Watching The Decade with members of this group on Sunday made me think about how the show was put together - through suggestions of songs from fans. So that brought up an interesting question: If you could put together your dream GazettE live, what songs would be in it?

Let's say this is a show about the same length as The Decade: seventeen songs in the main body of the show, ten in the encores. We'll say there's some songs that are a given: Filth in the Beauty, Ride with the Rockers, Linda and Kantou. But for the rest of the show, go to it!

Hey guys!

It seems like Sunday the 10th is suitable for most people that I've spoken with for a festive Decade watching and chatting party! (It's actually the only day I can this weekend, since I have to attend training seminar on the 8th and 9th.)

This DVD is looooong, so we might need a food break somewhere in the middle, so I think starting early (depending on where in the world you are) is to prefer. Otherwise we have to use two separate days for this, and I fear that is even harder to organize.

I think we usually start at noon EST, which translates to 5pm GMT. I hope that will be enough time to watch this and squee excitedly over all the awesome if we start then. The DVD is 2hrs 37 min long, and we need to pause at times I think for special squeeful moments. :D

If you have thoughts about the time etc, please comment. There's still time to make changes to the schedule. :)

There will be the usual info with when and where and the how as well (YouTube vids, chat programs, etc) closer to the party!

If you haven't hung out with us before, but is watching this community, please, consider joining us this time! We don't bite, I promise! :D

As you may know, the voting for the JPop Asia Award is over for this time, and (a few days late) they've revealed the results!

the GazettE were nominated in a whole bunch of categories, and now we know how it went:

Q16. Favorite artist/band: the GazettE

Q18. Best rocking PV 2012: the GazettE - Derangement

Q20. Best album 2012: the GazettE - Division

Q22. Best rock act: the GazettE

Q25. Best use of social media (facebook, twitter, etc.): Aoi (the GazettE)

Q27. Sexiest rocker: Kai (the GazettE)

YAYYYYYYY! Congratulations to the band, and to Aoi and Kai specifically! We already knew they're awesome, and now we know that there's more than us who think so! :D

Hi again!

First there's like no posts here for ages, and then all of a sudden there's a flurry of them! LOL Sorry for being a bit unreliable in the posting.

Anyway, as we all know, the Decade DVD is out (even though I still haven't received my copy! OMG!), and there are even some links to download and the whole thing up on YouTube in nice little chunks...

So I was thinking, is anyone(s) here interested in getting together in chat online and having a watch together?

Being an overseas fan of the GazettE can be a rather lonely thing many times, so even if we're not physically in the same place, it's a little like we're almost that and somehow connected anyway of we're chatting and watching the same thing at the same time. :D

I've already watched it together with two close friends in other countries, but I'd love to watch it together with you guys in this awesome community too! What do you say? Interested?

I don't think we can watch it all in one sitting because the DVD is superlong, and with chatting taking place at the same time, or rather, between songs, it will get even longer! But maybe two or three sittings? And you can join us in whatever you have time for?

Aoi turned 34 today!!! :D I'd like to wish our beloved guitarist a happy birthday and a great year to come! He's seemed to be a bit down lately, tweeting that he's only heard sad things so far this year... I hope his friends have cheered him up with greetings and presents!

Let's celebrate him here too! Even though he (hopefully!) never will see it! LOL

Just a little bit of news...

the GazettE's new DVD release, The Decade, reached the third place on the weekly Oricon chart!

Also, it seems like the guys are planning a new release... Ruki has posted on his Twitter about recording meetings, and he's also changed his hairstyle a few days ago. (Which usually only happens when there's a new style coming up.) Translation of his tweet can be found here. Aoi has also reported that now it's just easy work where he just has to sit around... :)

And, finally, apparently Aoi's drinking buddies surprised him with an early celebration of his birthday. Info from Seiichi Hoshiko's (VisualKei Oyaji) FB, translated here.

gazepic_a_day is a new community here on DW, for fans of the GazettE. Like the name implies, we post a picture of the band (almost) every day! (Yeah, sometimes I miss a day because of work or other real life shenanigans, but I try to post every day! *grin*)

Quite a few people (at least among my friends) were baffled to see Kai with a cigarette in his latest Rock & Read appearance. For a loooooooong time, he's been a non-smoker, and has said so in interviews when asked. But in that photo shoot he's looking all sexy and hot with a cigarette in his hand and lots of smoke around his face... so. We were wondering...

And now we know.

Notice his hand in the second pic. Yep, that's a cigarette. So, apparently, after several years of not smoking, Kai is now back on the poison sticks. :( Stress? I mean, he held up for so many years!

So, it's the time for all those yearly charts and stuff like that to be put together and posted, you know? CD-Japan has now put their stats up for the year, and apart from the specific J-pop, Visual Kei, anime cd, soundtracks, etc, etc, they also have the "all" list...

On third place on the "all" list, we find the Limited Edition of the GazettE's DIVISION!

On 12th place, guess what we find there? Yep, the Limited Edition of the GazettE's OMEGA DVD!

Isn't that just awesome? :D

(The regular edition of DIVISION is on 26th place, btw.)

There's finally been some information released about The Decade DVD, like covers for the regular and the limited editions, and what will be included.

From what kind people have translated, it seems like the bonus items in the limited edition are: Document The Decade and an audio record of the live! I have to admit that I squeed loudly when I saw this. LOL

Those of you who attended our listening party chats may remember me talking about a friend of mine who was anti-GazettE. Now, this person has very good taste otherwise - she's one of the more mature members of the Alice Nine fandom and was responsible for introducing me to SCREW and BORN - but the Gazemen never did it for her. (She'd dismissed them as "the Japanese equivalent of American stadium rock.")

That is, until she decided to watch the Kishidan Banpaku Expo footage.

Now, suddenly, she's starting to realize what the appeal of the band is. She said to me, "They're much better live, without the cutesy female backing vocals and the electronic effects." And then she went out and got Division - which she liked despite the fact that half of it is "electronic effects." Now, she's saying that she's considering preordering The Decade.

Just goes to show you that when it comes to the Gazemen, resistance is futile. XD

Sunday's DIM listening party online was a blast! We had so much fun! :D I want to say thank you to those who participated, especially to those who were actually in the path of tropical storm Sandy! And to those of you who missed it, don't worry. We'll have a party again. :)
