I was sitting here listening to T.M.Revolution's new album, and I remembered this picture that I came across the other day as I link-hopped on the Internet. Maybe I'm just over-sensitive, but sometimes I get annoyed when people keep mentioning or joking about how short Ruki is. I think a lot of people forget that in Japan, the average height of a male is 1.715 m (5 ft 7 1⁄2 in), and for a female, it's 1.580 m (5 ft 2 in). So even though Ruki is shorter than average with his 1.62 m, it's not like he's a dwarf or something like so many make it sound like. *grumps* And a lot of Caucasians would tower over almost any Japanese! I know my brother would definitely be a giant! LOL

Anyway! To the picture! And why I thought of it because of the music. ;) Click for a bigger version.



That's Ruki and T.M.Revolution (also the vocalist in Abingdon Boys School)! See? Ruki is not the shortest man in the Universe! T.M.Revolution is! He is tall! :D

Sadly, I have no idea where this picture was taken, or why etc, and also not who the original uploader is.

ETA: After some Internet detectiving (totally a word, shh!) we now know that this pic was taken backstage/off-camera at the TV show Music Japan Dec 12th, 2010. :)

Speaking of T.M. Revolution's new album (is it any good, btw?), at least Ruki's never resorted to wearing six-inch heels to make himself look taller! XD

It actually is! I'm not often in the mood for the electrojpop/jrock thing, but today is such a day and I am quite enjoying it. It's bouncy and has pretty bits, and TMR's voice is nice as always.

Hahah! Those spiked heels look dangerous! I would never be able to even stand in them!!! I do wonder though, in this picture... TMR is most likely wearing shoes, with at least some kind of heel. Probably a little more than Ruki's got. LOL During that charity auction thing, maybe it was good that he was sitting down the whole time? ;) I still think he's hot, though. And he's 40!

Ooh, I'll have to give it a listen! I don't think there's anything new for Abingdon Boys School coming out, so it'll fill the gap nicely. XD

*is going to investigate how tall TMR is* Yeah, Ruki doesn't go for giant heels. A little bit raised, but nothing on quite the same scale as Uruha's platforms from Tokyo Dome. XD And I still can't believe he's 40! He doesn't look it!

FYI, wiki says TMR's 161cm. Either it's lying or Ruki's standing on a box. O_o

It must be lying... Because Ruki is not standing on a box. LOL

In this pic TMR is leaning forward a bit, so he's even shorter than Ruki here, but comparing Ruki to Kai and Reita, he looks his usual height. :)

And I think these pics must have been taken some time during the tour leading up to Tokyo Dome. Do you know if GazettE and TMR were at the same TV show or other happening together? (Since TMR is all dolled up too. *g*)

Um... They might have been on Music Japan at the same time? I know the Gazeboys were on performing Pledge (and Ruki sounded really shaky, he must not be used to singing it live yet), so maybe TMR was there as well? When did the Bleach movie single come out?

Also, helloooo Kai! ...what the freaking hell are you wearing?

Ah, sounds plausible yes. *nods* Save The One, Save The All came out Dec 1st. So just two weeks before Pledge.

And yeah... Poor Ruki. I'm glad I haven't seen that performance then because I would cringe! *hugs him* It sounds like it's a hard song to sing.

Wearing? *didn't notice any clothes* ;) Oh... A tank top and a black vest? *g* It should be a lot more figure-hugging IMO! Or less clothes. Either of those works.

If it's any help, he did improve for Tokyo Dome. I guess he just needs practice and probably a less emotional setting? :P

No clothes! Yes! XD It wouldn't be so bad if he just lost that vest though, it doesn't go with the rest at all.

Oh gods. I have now watched Ruki sing Pledge... *is still cringing* He looks like he's wincing too and trying to hide it! Awwww... he knew it sounded terrible. *hugs him*

He had definitely improved for Tokyo Dome! A lot! :) So, yes, more practice!

Also... if you haven't seen it yet: Save The One, Save The All from the same show. :)

It does look a bit like something he's borrowed? From Uruha? ;)

I know! ;_; Poor Ruki... I really don't think the format helps here, he obviously needs some time to warm up while singing it and it's not a song that can be shortened easily.

Well, I have seen pics of him wearing black vests over a shirt or t-shirt, but they're usually shorter. Maybe Kai just had a day when he felt plain? ;)
